B’Kara Karate Club’s students participated a different style of Karate than the one typically practiced locally. Sessions were held by Sensei Vincent Busuttil, 6th Dan in Goju Ryu, during his visit to Malta from Australia. Sensei Vince was born in Malta, however had relocated to Australia in his early teenage years.
This Seminar, which consisted of three full sessions and which were delivered at the B’Kara Karate Club dojo, proved to be highly motivating and interesting. Special attention was given to exclusive Goju Ryu techniques, including kihon with kokyu breathing, sanchin dachi and three kakie drills. The last session of the Seminar was a join session with our Sensei Anthony Zammit, which focused on both Shotokan and Goju Ryu. Sensei Anthony Zammit delivered the Shotokan part of the session with kata and bunkai explanations from Tekki Shodan and Tekki Nidan, Heian Oyo Shodan and Heian Oyo Nidan. Visiting Sensei Vince Busuttil presented the Goju Ryu part of the session with Shisochin kata.
The Seminar also had Sensei Karl Anastasi, 4th Dan participate in organised seminar, together with some of his students from the Impact Karate Club – San Gwann.
Sensei Anthony Zammit greatly appreciated Sensei Vince Busuttil for his remarkable seminar and sincerely thanks him for visiting our B’Kara Karate Club to share our Karate practises and experiences.
