Sensei Anthony Zammit started training Judo in 1973 at the Lyceum Judo Club located in Hamrun. He later joined the Prince Sports Centre to learn both Karate-Do and Judo.

In 1975 Sensei Anthony Zammit graded and achieved 2nd kyu in Judo and 4th kyu in Wado-ryu . He was also delivering Judo sessions at the Lyceum in Hamrun at that time.

During 1977, Sensei Anthony Zammit drifted away from Karate-Do lessons, to continue practicing Judo at the Zebbug Judo Club. His Sensei were the late Sensei Tony Tanti, who at that time was also the National Judo coach and and the Malta Judo President, Sensei Joseph Caruana, ( in picture above ), Malta’s first Judo Blackbelt.

In 1986, Sensei Anthony Zammit joined the Malta Karate Association to resume his Karate-Do practice, this time training the newly introduced Karate style – Shotokan.

In 1987, Sensei Anthony Zammit achieved 1st Dan Black Belt and, in the same year, was elected as the General Secretary of the Malta Karate Association.

In 1991, Sensei Anthony Zammit graded to 2nd Dan Black Belt under the examination of Sensei Colin Williams and Sensei Ronnie Colwell

Three years later, in 1994, Sensei Anthony Zammit achieved 3rd Dan Black Belt, also examined and awarded by Sensei Colin Williams. Sensei Anthony Zammit was the first to reach the grade of 3rd Dan Black Belt in Malta.

During one of his three visits to Malta in 1994 holding seminars in Wado Ryu, Sensei Tringali (the late) 6th Dan awarded Sensei Anthony Zammit an honorary 2nd Dan in Wado Ryu.

In 1998, Sensei Anthony Zammit got nominated as the President of Malta Karate Federation.

Shortly after, in 1999, following the formation of the Malta Karate Federation, Sensei Anthony Zammit attempted the next Black Belt exam, and obtained 4th Dan Black Belt, this time awarded by Sensei Santo Torre. additionally he received an award for Master level of Karate Instructor by MKF.

In the years between 2002 and 2006 Sensei Anthony Zammit started the course and passed his refereeing examinations becoming a Referee in both Kata and Kumite, under the Mediterranean Karate Federation.

In January, 2003, Sensei Anthony Zammit was examined and successfully promoted to 5th Dan under examiners Sensei Santo Torre, 8thDan and Sensei Biagio Pedala, 7th Dan.

From 2004 until 2007, Sensei Anthony Zammit took courses in University of Malta and received DIPLOMA ( Hons.) in SPORTS AND LEISURE STUDY.

2005 – 2007

In 2005 all through until 2007, Sensei Anthony Zammit successfully achieved the rank of World Karate Federation Judge for Kata and Kumite after complex examinations.

In 2012, Sensei Anthony Zammit was awarded the rank of 6th Dan Black Belt by the Malta Karate Federation.

Three Golden medals in Polish open Karate championship in kata.
